In the Hunger Games Katniss becomes allies with Rue who is discribed as a girl with brown eyes and black hair. And the movie posters have just been realised and such and everyone seems so shocked that the actress is African-American and said things like 'I didn't picture her like that'. And Rue is also said to remind Katniss of her sister Prim. And everyone said, 'Oh, she isn't blond' I'm like Rue wasn't described EVER to look like Prim, she is just small like Prim is and is about Prim's age.
And I didn't picture Rue as African-American, but I also didn't picture her to have brown eyes (my brain refuses), despite it being metioned multiple times. But when I saw the trailer I was thinking 'Where's Rue? Where's Rue?' and when I saw a small girl that was African-American, I was like 'oh, that must be Rue'
and the author said that Thresh (from Rue's district) and Rue were very clear in her mind to be african-american. And they way she is described in the book, she very well could've been black. And another character Cinna is also African-American, I thought he suited the role of Cinna so well, he might as well change his name to Cinna and claim to be from the Capitol for the rest of his life, I only saw his face for five seconds in the trailer. I think they did very well with the casting, and if their hair colour was different, something they would dye it.
Although I am quite disappointed with Effie's hair (hopefully it gets crazier through out the film or something).
And I don't know if I have metioned it, but I hate talking about casting, or reading magazines that talk about casting or watching the behind the scenes or repeatedly watching the trailer because it ruins the whole idea of the character being real, they are just 2D instead of coming to life in a movie or book.
But I thought I'd talk about this, cause I mean everyone made such a big deal, IT'S JUST HER MOTHER-FREAKING SKIN COLOUR..

I nearly fainted at the hairdressers yesterday...
So, I was at the hairdressers yesterday, and the hairdresser had just given my hair a wash, and was combing it out and trimming it and stuff. But she needed me to stand up because my hair is quite long and the back of the chair was blocking it and she was doing the back of my hair so I had to like crane my neck and my back started to hurt, but I tried to ignore it, and then I started seeing coloured dots and I was like stabbing myself with my finger nails trying to get my brain to wake up or make the dizziness go away or whatever, and then I started to sway, and my hairdresser asked me if I was alright and took me outside to the courtyard that is like behind their salon and gave me a drink of water and I was trying to think of what could have caused it, I had Cheerios cereal with milk and juice that morning for breakfast a slice of raw ham and some two minute noodles. So I knew it couldn't be something I ate. And I had been pacing the street window shopping because I showed up for my appointment alittle early. So eventually my mind was back on track again and I went inside and the hairdresser just made me sit down for the rest of what she was going to do standing up. So I went home and when I got home I was all up on facebook like 'Nearly fainted at the Hairdressers today'. And I have never fainted or nearly fainted even up until yesterday so, it was quite a new experience for me. And no one cared.
But when my mum got home she cared, and she thought it was like the bleach and other fumes that might've been around me, and I said I didn't know what it was, but everything around me at the time of nearly fainting smelt nice.
So, ya know. New experiences.
Might as well get me a sparkly vampire boyfriend, a werewolf and call me Bella Swan.

So, after the hairdresser I went back and stuff then I started to read to my brother but my headache which was coming and going started to get really painful so I stopped (much to my brother's disappointment (not really)) and took some panadol read a bit and went to sleep.

Oooohhh Granddad!
Good ol' Granddad!
BTW my granddad read my LAST blog post and assured me still plays tennis on Fridays and Sundays.
The only reason I was unsure was because last time I was SURE he mentioned going to tennis was when I was 11.

Oooohhh Grandma!
So, today, while mum's at work she calls me to check on how my brother and I doing at home, and she asks me if I got her e-mail, that she forwarded from my Grandma. And I was like, no, why? (I'm really bad at checking my e-mail) and she said that it was from grandma talking about my blog post from yesterday, about my writing goal, and she said that she will never tell me 'to write what you know'. Here is the full e-mail copy and pasted for you:
I’d never ever tell Alice Peeta ‘write about what you know.’ It’s a good starting point for reluctant writers or people who lack self-confidence but a fluent and imaginative writer like her would find it very restrictive. Just go for it, A P, and let your fingers fly over the keyboard.
And if your wondering why she called me Alice Peeta, Peeta is my current middle name on Facebook, because of the Hunger Games. See, whenever I change my middle name on Facebook my Grandparents call me by my first name and my facebook middle name. And when my Graddad asked why I not call myself by the Heroine's name (Katniss), I said 'Because I would date Peeta if he was a real person.'
So, they have also called me by the name of 'Alice Potter'.
So, just letting you know Grandma, I wasn't say that YOU were going to say 'write what you know' just people who read my stories in general, that is why I am so private about my writing.
Something tells me that just made no sense, and only slightly helped me get my point across.
So, just letting you guys know that I have pretty awesome grandparents, with a great sense of humour.
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDDAD!!!!!!!!!!!
He's turning 90 today. And he still plays golf and I'm pretty sure he still plays tennis when he gets the chance.
BTW I consider that picture misleading, considering I write all my stories on my laptop. But my Grandma wrote by hand.

New Years Resolutions
So, first of all Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
So, everyone I watch on YouTube is asking about New Years Resolutions (can we just call them NYR? Cause I am typing with one hand because I am doing my nails at the moment...), and also my cousins were kind of curious about my NYRs.
But I hadn't really given much thought to them, but I decided I wanted to be more creative with them.
Because over half the world has announced like every other New Year they want to lose weight, or keep their weight at the level it is now. Or to jog everyday or whatever. And I am occasionally an Optimist but mostly a Pessimist, and I am not afraid to be honest and say that about only a quarter of you will succeed and then some might gain unhealthy eating disorders.
So I decided I will not make a goal weight, because it always sets you up for failure, but when you lose weight without having any sort of goal at all, it makes you happy, because you feel like you didn't even half to try for that weight. And so I am not going to make any diet or exercise goals, I just go by my rules (not goals, RULES (I've had these rules ever since I started receiving my own recurring pocket money when I was 11 and it was the first time I went to a school that had food you can buy food without planning beforehand you just have to have money)).
Rule #1) No change for a dollar chocolate bar (I always have notes and not change), then no chocolate bar.
Rule #2) Are you getting your money worth? Is that tiny strawberry tart worth a dollar fifty? I think not. Bye-bye tiny strawberry tart!
Rule #3) Always be hesitant.
My friends think of me as whimp for always saying "Pass", but who has more money at then end of the day? MOI.
Apart from I movie theatres, I never been anywhere else apart from Reading Cinemas that you can get THIS much Pepsi:
Okay, I was kidding, but you get my drift.
So finally what you ALLLL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY NEW YEARS RESOLUUUUTTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(To be said out loud like at some WWE boxing/wrestling/whatever match).
#1) Be Nicer.
If you ever meet me, or already know me, you will know I can be pretty nice.
But when I get too close to you I become a little TOO honest (eg. You shouldn't have straightened your hair, it's totally fried). And some people are just really annoying but they don't know they're annoying it's just the way they are and it gets me really cranky (some people I know have done ALL of my pet peeves whether know it or not). And so when I get cranky can be upsetting for the person making me cranky because it is not really their fault because it is just something they do and occasionally can't help. So I need to work on my niceness.
#2) More Grace
I literally rolled my eyes as I wrote the word Grace, but I need to work on it, because I swear like a sailor.
And I'm a girl. And girls aren't meant to swear like sailors. And also I sit like a slob (slouchy, legs slightly spread, I mean come on! I look like a dude, oh yeah, stop saying dude is part of this grace thing as well).
And having a good posture means you don't look as fat as you would as a slouchy slob. And I guess being nice is part of grace.
#3) More Writing and More Sharing
I not only write this blog but I also write stories, and none of the stories so far have been completed (apart from a two page one I wrote when I was eight, but I don't think that really counts...) And my grandma is a write as well and she thinks I'm really good (and some others say so as well, but I don't want to brag, grace, grace). And my grandma in particular wants to see more of it, and I hate to say, but I am actually really private about my writing with adults because I don't like/fear getting the criticism of 'write what you know' and 'that isn't possible', so I tend not share, which of course drives my grandma mad. So I thought I should write more and share it with my grandmother more.
And there is that tiny extra goal to write on here more.
#4) Better at Cheerleading.
Practise, Go Hard, whatever.
#5) Take care of my skin
So, I used to be/still am pretty bad at looking after my skin.
So I used to always get sun burnt, but now I taken care of that.
Butttt I don't wash my face as much as I should and I don't exfoliate my skin, which is basically getting rid of dead skin cells. And so I know I should get more into the habit of washing my face, which is usually difficult on weekdays because we only have one bathroom in a cottage like house. And one sink and one mirror in that bathroom. And my mum takes a shower every morning and also gets changed in there so it is pretty crammed for time slots to wash my face and stuff. Especially since I like to have breakfast and sleep in and whatever. So PRETTY crammed. But at night the bathroom is pretty NOT crammed, so I will have to go ONCE a day face washing despite what the ads tell me to do TWICE a day.
And exfoliating is something I only hear about from beauty gurus on the internet and I don't come across stores that often that sell exfoliating products I can afford, and I know there is one LUSH in town, but I feel like maybe I do the whole exfoliating process wrong or I do it inconstantly. So next time I go to town with friends and I have money for the exfoliation products, I'll take a look around and see what I can find.
#6) Take care of my hair
So my hair is looking pretty bad at the moment (the amount of split ends are pissing me off).
So I need a trim. And I also need to invest in some shampoo that fixes hair which also apparently you can get from LUSH. I know it's called Rehab (heard about it via Beauty Guru). So I want my hair to have more comments on it, other than 'It's so long' (which it is), but I want things like 'OhMiGwosh it is so swoft and bweautiful!'
Also I need to invest in some hair protectant because I got a straightener for Christmas, but I refuse to use it until I know that my hair isn't going to be damaged from it. And some other kind of hair protectant you use before drying your hair with a blow dryer.
#7) Use my Student Diary
It got damaged from some pouring water on my bad last year, so when I get my 2012 one, I want to take EXTRA care of it and ACTUALLY use it.
#8) Socialise
I need to get in contact with my friends, I miss THEMMMMMM.
And I am only 'friends' with one guy. Who I haven't seen in over a year. So he was more like a acquaintance. And everyone of my friends are friends with MULTIPLE boys and make fun of ME for not having boy friends (see that space? Yeah? Means boy that is a friend. Boyfriend means in a committed relationship with this boy). And yet they refuse to let me meet them on some group outing. Bitches.
#9) Own More Awesome Movies
At the moment all of my movies my friends and I are sick of watching or they suck in general. Yeah...
#10) Try Hard in School.
There! I just gave you TEN NYRs. I hope you enjoyed.
PS If there is a Apocalypse, I want a Zombie one! It sounds like the most fun.
And the one I am most likely to survive...
Mainly becuase it incredibly easy to hit slow walking idiots on the head.
